Andrea Urquizu was born in Buenos Aires on March 6th, 1986. She is a clothing designer, having studied at FADU – UBA. Since the start of her studies, she has worked on creating machine embroidery, both her own and on request. Since 2007, she has worked creating outfits for rock bands, and since 2010, she has had her own brand, AU, which combines embroidery and artist outfitter. AU is greatly influenced by the music world, which acts as the inspiration for each collection and lends elements to the design. The brand distinguishes itself by the way it uses embroidery as part of the design structure. Every bit of embroidery is designed and created specifically for each garment, achieving texture and 3D effects. Andrea also uses a minimalist style, characterized by her use of black and white. Her work is governed by tailoring structure, starting with classic tailored jackets, and incorporating modern elements.
